Reasons for corrugations in hydraulic joints

In fact, the main reason for the corrugation of stainless steel pipe joints is due to grinders, steel pipes, and sand. Do you know the reason why stainless steel hydraulic joints are prone to corrugations? It is caused by the vibration of the wheel system, or due to the vibration of the grinding wheel relative to the workpiece. Such vibrations include forced vibrations and self-excited vibrations. There are many specific reasons for vibration, among which the main ones are: the unbalanced grinding wheel has not undergone a serious balance test before installation. Therefore, forced vibration is generated during the grinding process, causing straight wave ripples on the surface of the stainless steel tube. Since the frequency of the forced vibration is equal to the frequency of the exciting force or a multiple of it, the resulting ripple is deeper and the wave distance is wider, and the frequency of the wave is related to the rotational speed of the grinding wheel. When processing stainless steel pipes, the identification method can be to apply a thin layer of red oil on the surface of the workpiece, and adjust the moving speed of the worktable, so that the moving distance of the worktable is slightly equal to 2/3 of the width of the grinding wheel when the workpiece rotates for one revolution. , and then move the grinding wheel frame, so that the grinding wheel just touches the red oil (no cutting), and then the tool is quickly retracted after the vertical movement of the tool once. At this time, the traces of "polygon" can be observed on the surface of the workpiece, and the wave distance (ie, the side width of the polygon) can be measured, and the frequency of the wave (wave frequency) can be calculated. The identification method for surface grinding is also similar.

Unbalance will also produce forced vibration and cause straight wave ripples (when grinding the outer circle) or horizontal ripples (when grinding the plane), which is similar to the unbalanced grinding wheel. For the same reason, the thickness and length of the grinding wheel drive belt are different, and the pulsation of the liquid in the oil pipeline caused by the operation of the oil pump in the hydraulic transmission mechanism of the grinder may also cause similar forced vibration. However, the vibration caused by this is slightly less. When the surface of the stainless steel pipe is processed, the elastic deformation of the steel pipe and the machine tool system during the grinding process will increase the strength of the self-excited vibration during the grinding process, making the machined surface of the steel pipe appear straight wave ripples. At this time, the corrugation is shallow and dense, and the wave frequency is generally around 300 per second, which is inconsistent with the speed of the grinding wheel. The worse the rigidity of the steel pipe and the machine tool system, the greater the friction force of the grinding wheel on the workpiece, the greater the amplitude of the self-excited vibration, and the deeper the ripple.
